Dr Julia Vogt, PI
Julia is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Reading. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany and received her PhD in Psychology from Ghent University, Belgium. Hereafter, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business before joining the University of Reading. Julia's research interests include visual attention, social cognition, self-regulation, and emotion. |
Hilal Cam Hilal completed her master’s studies in Clinical and Health Psychology. Her master’s thesis was focused on food-specific inhibitory control and frontal alpha asymmetry. She is currently a PhD Student at the University of Reading and her project addresses the role of cognitive and motivational mechanisms in the relationship between negative emotions and the self-control of eating. |
Desieree Makalew
Desieree completed her MBA in finance and worked in a financial field before switching her career to psychology. After receiving an MSc in Psychology, she decided to pursue a PhD. While working with her clients, she became more interested in emotion regulation and neurodiversity. Her research project aims to explore how social media content can be a tool to regulate emotions in day-to-day life. |

Angeliki (Kelina) Fili After completing a BSc in Dietetics, Kelina continued her studies by receiving an MSc in Sport and Exercise nutrition and an MSc in Health Psychology. Understanding how psychology impacts everyday life she decided to pursue a PhD; studying the role of emotions and emotion regulation in healthy food choice. She is interested in how emotion regulation can help people obtain a nutritious diet and live a healthier lifestyle. |
Niusha Akbari Saneh (with Henley Business School, first supervisor: Kevin Money) Niusha Akbari Saneh is a PhD student in Marketing and Reputation at Henley Business School under the supervision of Prof. Kevin Money, Dr. Bahram Mahmoodi Kahriz, and Julia. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in clinical psychology. Her doctoral research explores organizational communication strategies regarding animal welfare-based products, and she tries to use her background in psychology to examine how organizations can effectively promote ethical consumption and social responsibility. Niusha's research interests include prosocial behaviour, guilt, narrative communication, sustainability, and animal welfare. |
